Kelsey is also Certified Alcohol and Drug counselor. Experienced in both mental health counseling and art therapy, Kelsey uses an integrative approach in providing counseling services while also offering art therapy to enhance the therapeutic process. She has previous experience facilitating an expressive arts open studio for young adults, adults, and their families at the National Alliance on Mental Illness of McHenry County. Kelsey also leads recovery-focused adolescent and young adult art therapy groups at FAIR.

As an art therapist, Kelsey is passionate about helping clients foster self-awareness and gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors by using art to access different areas of the brain than those used for speaking. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys reading, traveling, and artmaking.

Note from Kelsey:

Whether you are facing a transition in life, struggling with mental health, or want to work toward self-improvement, I can support you in achieving personal growth. In addition to being a licensed counselor, I am also an art therapist. For those who are interested, I guide clients in creative expression such as painting, drawing, collage, and writing for enhanced self-exploration. Since art-making accesses different areas of the brain than those used for speaking, I help clients use art-making to view issues from new and different perspectives.

I work with adults and adolescents (11+) to address a variety of concerns such as anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, stress management, substance abuse, internet addiction, as well as dealing with chronic illness. As a former soccer player and current runner, I strive to assist my clients with developing a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Our work together can help you gain insight into how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact one another. You will also learn concrete coping and cognitive skills to make positive, lasting change. By developing insight, and learning these skills, you can increase self-esteem and lead a healthy, fulfilling life.
